Quick morning update...

Got to get out of the house to get to work on time...but, I thought you should all know (in case you're following the blog closely) that my bad Prof? Yeah, basically I smacked him in the face.

I wrote a letter to the Dean detailing every way in which he was deficient. The Dean told me he was immediately going to meet with Prof. And now the final project is off and we have a final exam. Which has (miraculously) already been posted.

I didn't go to class last night (I started boycotting weeks ago. It was a waste of my night to go) so I have no idea what the Prof had to say about it. I am sort of waiting in suspense to watch the class and hear what he says!

Off I go...have a fun Tuesday...

  2. As a future teacher (though not at that level, or that subject), I say "good job!"

Teaching is a lot of work. A lot (LOTS and lots) of prep-work before class, reflecting on how the class went, altering the syllabus/plan to accomodate the specific students, and of course grading and whatnot. But, anyone who is teaching should already know this and know whether or not they can do it. There are ways around some of the work that don't involve the crappiness of that teacher.

I'm glad you went to the dean. Your prof probably isn't, but if the dean is worth their salt, the prof won't know who said something, and it makes no sense to pay for a class and get that.

That whole "those who can, do. those who can't, teach." thing really upsets me. It is more than knowing stuff and standing in front of a bunch of people.

Sorry for the rant, what I meant was "Good Job!"
